Visit to St Petersburg, FL

On Friday, we left to go up to Avon Park and see Shelley and Buddy. They had come down to Florida on Sunday and we stopped in there on our way, or out of the way to St Petersburg. We went golfing at a small out of the way golf course. 100_2201 Shelley is just about to tee off.100_2203 Buddy about to tee off with Rick waiting his turn. We had fun catching up. We took them over to show them the park that we will be staying in at the end of Dec. That evening we went to the designated spot in their park to watch the Shuttle lift off. Of course, about 15 minutes before liftoff, it started to rain and the clouds moved in. We were able to see the ball of flame from the rocket boosters for about 5-10 seconds before it disappeared into the clouds. Oh well. Better luck next time. The next morning we went out for breakfast and they showed us around the area. Then we took off for St Petersburg to visit with Rick's Aunt and Uncle.100_2211 We hit some rain and the skies were cloudy, but here is the picture of the bridge on Rt 275 going north into St Petersburg.  100_2212100_2214 I put this picture in to show that we were surrounded by water as we were on the bridge. It looks really neat on the GPS. We got there before Rick's family did so we had a great visit with Jim and Joanne. About 7:00, Rick's sister Rose and her husband Dean, sister Joyce with her boyfriend Tim, and Dad showed up. At that time, we put the chicken on the barbeque and ate dinner. Dad stayed with us at Jim's and the other 4 went over to Jim's other trailer which was a mile away. 100_2218 Dad and Uncle Jim sitting in the living room. They have a double wide that is just the right size for 2 people. Plus they have an extra bedroom for guest and the dining room is good size for eating. 100_2219 This is the view from their living room. They also have an enclosed porch on the back of the house facing this lake. 100_2220 This park is all owned by the residents. They have a governing board to run it. It only has 91 lots. 100_2222 100_2223 The front and side view of the trailer. In the shed is a washer, dryer, refrigerator and room for storage. It is a really nice place and everyone we met was real friendly. On Sunday we did nothing but visit and enjoy the day. Monday we got up and Jim fixed us a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, and English muffins. Later in the day we went to the Amvets for a late lunch. We were sitting next to the bay and enjoyed the sun while we ate. After lunch we set off for Johns Pass Boardwalk. This is a really neat area and I will post right away the pictures of the dolphins and the boardwalk.
