Spring in the desert means good-bye

Spring has sprung here in the desert. That means we have to say good-bye to our winter friends as they depart back to their prospective homes. We had a farewell dinner at Bill and Judy’s the other day. It was a bit cool but we had fun.

In the first picture, Rick and Judy are standing up tasting some of the food. In the second, Rick is finding his way to a seat. The cook, Bill surrounded by his helpers. The food was excellent, as usual, and the conversations were exceptional. Before we knew it, it was 8:30 and time to go home and warm up. It was a chilly night. That was Tuesday. On Wednesday, they had their last jam session. On the stage is Al on drums and Don on the harmonicas. Left to right on the floor is Wilf, Pat, and Bill. Then Carol came to sing. She has a really good voice and her and Wilf do a lot of duets. Thursday, we went golfing with the scramble group. We had nachos and hot wings and other good stuff afterwards and that was a good time. After we got home from golfing, we had a block party. I forgot to take my camera over for pictures. The food was excellent again and the company was great. Friday we didn’t do a whole lot. We did walk around the park and looked at some of the flowers in bloom and looked at all the empty sites. Empty sites in front of us.

A lot of people put their flowers in pots. Easier to take care of. We saw these ducks at one park model and they are really cute. You can now see our camper from the street, since a lot of the people have left. These flowers are up by the pool area.

This is a rose bush trained to climb a pole. And this bird has taken up residency on the cactus.

And today we are going over to Don and LaVon’s for dinner. We are both cooking and this will be a very special meal. Then, hopefully the girls will rule and win tonight playing cards. Soon it will be time to pack up and head out. But we will be back to this area next winter season and that will be nice. We really enjoy the people of this park.
