Doing the museum thing

We went with Jay and Betty to Ephrata to view the Grant County Museum. This place was really neat. They had little shops of yesteryear and it was very neat. The little school house had the old coal burner to keep the students warm but they burned a lot of sagebrush in the fires because it was a slow burning wood. And they definitely have a lot of sagebrush around this area. Thus the name of the park we are staying at. Sage Hills. Go figure.100_5206 Here are some of the pictures I took that day. Hope you enjoy them.100_5212

100_5214 100_5218 100_5224 Read the sign on this manure spreader. Loved it!100_5219 100_5227 Rick loved this old fire truck. We will show you a close up of the picture on the doors.100_5233 The black cat because it was Fire District 13. How cute it that? Then we drove to Soap Lake. This lake has so many minerals in it, they call it the healing waters. Plus no fish can live in it because of the minerals.100_5241 Do you notice the soap like substance on the beach? Thus, it’s name, Soap Lake. 100_5243 This is a sun dial that has been there for about a year now. The Garden Club of Soap Lake dedicated this to the park. The flooring was being treated the day we stopped so we could not go up on the platform to see it closer. Each of the tall stone columns had a roman numeral on it to tell the time. 100_5261 There was a RV park along this lake. $20.00 a night is not bad. So that was a day trip we took. Next post will be about the Potholes State Park. Here is a picture of Jay and Betty, our neighbors here at our park.

100_5271They have been full time RVing for 8 years.
