Sunday night

Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July. We did not get to go to our rib dinner because the bad weather came in about 30-45 minutes before it was to start. The electric flickered off a couple of times and it rained most of the evening. So, no ribs. What a bummer! This morning we got up and went to church with Don and LaVon. Don was preaching. Very good sermon. Went out to lunch at a great Italian restaurant. You know, Don knows of all the good places to eat that have great desserts! Of course, we had to try some. So we all took half of our meals home so we could get the desserts. Rick and I shared an apples tart with ice cream and then drizzled with caramel. Yummmm!!! We came home for afternoon naps. At least some of us did. Later, I went with LaVon to her mom's house so she could put the last of the days eye drops in. We had a short, but nice visit. After we got back home, we had a quick supper and then went over to play more cards. The first game was won by the gals. Now, LaVon and I feel that since we won the first game, which was a tie breaker from the other night, that we are the champions. So then we started to play another set of games. The guys won both of them. So, the gals figured we will come back tomorrow night and win to take this set. Now, after careful thought for some time, Rick figures that the last time we played it ended in a draw. 2 games to 2 games. And tonight the guys won 2-1. He really put a lot of thought into this. I'm not saying he is correct, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. But he says to you, LaVon, quack, quack. Only Don and LaVon will understand that last sentence. Walking home from their camper, the evening was great. No humidity, stars shining, and the moon is very bright. The neighbors of the park are busy putting on their own fireworks show. We stood a few minutes and watched them and then came into the house. Hopefully, they will not be setting them off at 1:30 in the morning like this morning. We'll leave a fan on to drown out the sounds. Hope everyone who traveled got home safely. Glad we were not on the road this weekend. It's nice staying put in one location for a while.
