The last days

I am taking time out from the blog for a family emergency. Rick's Dad was put under hospice care this past week and we had to pack up the camper and head toward Ohio. We got home on Saturday and got set up and then off to see Dad. Oh how he cried when he saw Rick. He kept saying "my son, my son". It was so touching to see the love between those two. Rick worked for years at the same Ford plant as his Dad. They also bowled on leagues together for many years. They have been very close. This is very hard for us to see him go down hill in health a little bit more each day. I am so glad that we made it home in time for Rick to be able to talk more to his dad. They talked about the bowling years and all the fun they had doing it. This comes less than a year after Rick lost his mom. She died last year on Sept 4th. But today Rick's brother got in from Thailand and all the kids are together again. I hope and pray that this will be a time of rejoicing for we know that Dad is going to Heaven. But it is still hard watching a loved one slip away from you. I'm not sure when I will write again, but for now, thank all of those that have been praying for us. Please continue to do so as we need it. One great thing that has happened, is that Rick's cousin Lonnie will be doing the funeral. He is a minister now and this will be his first funeral. So pray for him as this is a family member and he will be very emotional. We love you Lonnie. Thanks so much for consenting to our families wishes.

So sorry to hear about Rick's father. We definitely will have you all in our thoughts and prayers. Take care.
