Finally in Colorado

We left OH on May 25th and went to Indiana to have a new roof put on our Arizona room slide out. The reason for this was the slide had been leaking for quite some time and we did not know about it. The put a new roof on with out the windows. We love it! I have a regular dining room light and 3 pot lights over the couch. They also had to replace the wood in the floor because of the water damage. The walls were ok. Carriage treated us really well. They put us up in a hotel while the work was being done. We left Indiana on the 29th and made it to our destination on the first of June. The altitude here is around 8600’. It takes a while for your body to get used to the thin air. We were told to drink lots of water to help us out. Every once in a while we still feel the altitude bothering us. But it gets better every day. The owners of this private camp, John and Linda, are super people. We really enjoy talking to them and learning about the area. They are from Texas and have owned this camp for about 5-7 years. I can’t remember exactly. This camp has a great history. You can go to www.Menkhaven.com to view that history. It is very interesting. This camp has 16 RV sites and 12 rustic cabins. I do mean rustic. But they all have a working bathroom and kitchen. They built a new building for his work shop and a laundry room. Our cell phones do not work up here, but if we drive about 25-30 miles into town, they will work. So we are using the Wi-fi here instead of our Verizon card. Here are a few pictures that I have taken. As you can see, there is still snow around here. We have asked ourselves why did we come here? We like it warm! But the area is gorgeous! This is the view from my dining room window. The river runs right behind our campsite. Then it bends and goes along another side of the camp. I’m not sure of how this is going to transfer to the blog, so I will write in a different blog next.
